Andy Soccodato is a seasoned professional with a distinguished career spanning over 15 years in the fire service, encompassing roles in both career and volunteer capacities. With a notable tenure of nine years at the Charlottesville Fire Department in Virginia, Andy accrued extensive experience and expertise in firefighting and emergency response.


Currently serving as a Fire Instructor II at the Tennessee State Fire Academy, Andy plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of firefighters. In this capacity, he oversees the pump and aerial programs, imparting invaluable knowledge and skills to aspiring firefighters.

Beyond his instructional duties, Andy is the proprietor of The Water Thieves, a respected training company specializing in comprehensive fire service training. Through The Water Thieves, Andy leverages his wealth of experience to deliver high-quality training programs tailored to the specific needs of fire departments.


Andy's commitment to advancing the field of firefighting extends to his involvement with Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment, where he serves on the editorial advisory board. Additionally, he is a published author, with his book "Water Thievery: The Art of Water Supply Operations" serving as a definitive resource in the field.
